24 WEEK PREGNANCY UPDATE

Hi everyone,

I can’t believe I’m almost 25 weeks pregnant! I promised I’d do pregnancy updates so here it goes.

HOW FAR ALONG: I am currently 24 weeks pregnant.

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: Oh gosh, who added this question to the list? Haha 🙂 In total, I’ve gained 16 pounds so far!

MATERNITY CLOTHES: YES!! I can’t squeeze my bum into my non maternity pants/jeans and my belly is a little to big for my non maternity tops. I’ve been loving ASOS for maternity clothing as well as regular leggings for those days when I’m just running errands and working around the house.

STRETCH MARKS: None yet, thank goodness!

SLEEP: Not bad! In the beginning of this pregnancy I woke up at least 3-4 times during the night because I had to use the restroom, but now I pretty much sleep through the whole night.

BEST MOMENT SO FAR:  Definitely finding out the gender of our baby. I feel as though I’m able to connect with her much more now.

MISS ANYTHING: I miss my energy! Every day around 3-4 pm my energy level drops to like a negative 0. Sometimes I feel like I’m simply going to fall asleep in the middle of work.

MOVEMENT: Yes, and lots of it. I find that the baby starts to move a lot when I’m eating or before bed. I think she has a routine already 🙂

FOOD CRAVINGS: Fruit & Pasta! Peaches, nectarines, grapes,  apples, strawberries… Basically any kind of fruit and any kind of pasta 🙂

ANYTHING MAKING YOU QEASY OR SICK: Salads… I can eat all my veggies separately but if they’re all mixed in a bowl with some sort of dressing I absolutely will not eat it. Green juice or any kind of juice is how I get my daily dose of veggies.

LABOR SIGNS: None yet, thank goodness! However, I get A LOT of braxton hicks.

MOOD: Mostly always happy, but sometimes I have those moments when I just want and need to cry…

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Setting up our baby girls nursery very soon.

WE’RE HAVING A ….

Hi everyone! We’re super excited to finally share the gender of our little angel with you! We’re having a GIRL!!!!!! I don’t even know how to describe our excitement! We are so grateful to God for blessing us with a little girl! It still feels surreal to me. Every time someone asks me if I know the gender of our baby I blush… I’m that happy! We found out the gender of the baby at 13 weeks at a early gender scan clinic, however, my doctor told me that I shouldn’t trust the early scan which really made me sad because they told me that they were 100% sure it’s a girl.  A couple weeks ago my doctor confirmed that we are indeed having a girl and I went a little crazy with finally being able to buy cute little dresses and bows 🙂

Sometimes old wives tales are completely true! In my case, they seem to be 100% true. We got this beautiful little gender reveal box from Hudson & Heart CO and it’s one of those things that will stay with you forever. It’s a little box that has a quiz for you that will reveal some clues as well as a little gender lovey toy. David had a blast opening it and loves “Lucy the Lamb”. He says his little sister will love her little “babushka”. Lol, don’t ask me why picked that name for her, haha!

As always, thank you for all your support and kind messages! I appreciate every single one of them! You guys are the best!!!

XOXO

AVOIDING PREGNANCY FATIGUE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHi ladies, today I’ll be talking about ways to avoid pregnancy fatigue. I don’t think that there is a miracle remedy that will magically give you tons of energy, however, there are things that you can do to keep yourself motivated and out of bed. One thing to always keep in mind is that you should always listen to your body during pregnancy. If you’re feeling really tired make sure to get some rest.

  1. GET YOUR BEAUTY REST. Create that perfect oasis for you to escape to at the end of the day. Light some candles, read a book and unwind in your cozy bed. For me, my sheets and comforter are key. If they’re not cozy and super soft I won’t be able to fall asleep. I recently discovered a brand called “Majesty Silk” that carries silk pillowcases. Every time I go to bed I feel like a princess. They feel so luxurious and fancy! Love them!!
  2. DON’T SKIP YOUR MORNING ROUTINE. What I mean by that is that if you’re a coffee person you should have your coffee. If you’re a tea person have your tea. It’s perfectly safe to have a cup of coffee or tea, as long as it’s not more than 200 mg per day. If you feel safer not having caffeine try a decaf tea or coffee. That’s what I do and my mornings don’t seem out of whack.
  3. HAVE A LIGHTER BREAKFAST.  I’ve had to deal with really bad nausea this pregnancy and it wore me out. I found that if I ate lighter meals I didn’t feel as nauseated. Of course, that meant that I had to eat more frequently but I didn’t mind 🙂 It helped me be more energized and less nauseated.
  4. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. I remember complaining to my doctor about the fact that I had zero energy. She told me that I wasn’t drinking enough water and it was causing even worse fatigue. Now I make sure to drink a minimum of two liters of water per day and trust me, IT REALLY HELPS!
  5. TAKE IT EASY. Don’t overwork yourself. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Don’t set really crazy goals and unreal deadlines because if you’re anything like me you’ll quickly realize that it’s impossible and you’ll wear yourself out. I had to be put on bed rest for a week because I wasn’t being careful and wasn’t getting enough rest. We ladies are always on the go-go go-go…

I hope these quick tips help some of you. If you have any other helpful tips please share 😉
